We offer information and assistance to film and television projects of all sizes which are based in the County. Tax Relief
‘Section 481’ is a tax credit incentivising film and TV, animation and creative documentary production in Ireland, administered by Ireland’s Department of Culture and the Revenue Commissioners (Revenue).
The incentive applies to feature film, television drama (singles or series), animation (excluding computer games) and creative documentaries. Projects must satisfy the Culture Test and the Industry Development Test.
The amount of relief due depends on the production costs of the qualifying film. The tax credit has a ‘per project’ cap of up to 32% of the lower of:
- All eligible expenditure
- 80% of the total cost of production
- €125 million

Ardmore Studios
Established in 1958, Ardmore Studios is located in the coastal town of Bray, Co. Wicklow, 12 miles / 19 kilometres south of Dublin. The studios are about 30 minutes away from Dublin Airport via the M50 motorway.
Ardmore is in a unique position to offer a complete, one-stop-shop package of world-class film and television facilities customised to your specific production and budget requirements.
The studio’s dedication to continual growth, progress, and investment in cutting-edge technology has propelled them to the forefront of the Irish film industry.
The studio currently comprises over 70,000 sq ft of production stages and support facilities and consists of seven sound stages, extensive production and post-production facilities within two adjacent locations.
Production offices, workshops, costume, hair and make-up, and props space, dressing rooms, restaurant, and backlot are all part of the support infrastructure.
The Ardmore brand is recognised by producers throughout the world, having become associated with national and international film and television successes including My Left Foot, Braveheart, The Field, Into the Badlands, Little Women (BBC), The Man Who Invented Christmas, The Tudors, and other significant productions have all been filmed at Ardmore Studios.
Productions at Ardmore have received 14 Oscars and many BAFTA, Golden Globe and Emmy awards.

Ashford Studios
Ashford Studios is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built film and television studio located in Ballyhenry, Ashford, County Wicklow, 23 miles / 37 kilometres from Dublin City Centre and 40 minutes from Dublin Dublin Airport via the M50 motorway.
The purpose-built Ashford Film Studios is set on 350 acres and currently consists of 4 stages (12,600 sq. ft, 14,400 sq. ft, 30,000 sq. ft and 6500 sq. foot), all of which provide flexible, efficient production areas designed to the highest environmental standards. The stages are entirely soundproofed, with ceiling heights of 40 feet, and large pathways provide lighting technicians with complete access. An additional 4 stages totalling 170,000 sq.ft. are under development. The support facilities include ancillary offices, workshops, and a large backlot area.

Clermont
Screen Hub
The Hub provides 10,000sq ft of private and co-working spaces and aims to boost job creation by supporting local businesses operating in the film and audio-visual sector.
The Hub offers collaborative social spaces, a podcast studio and access to a range of existing meeting rooms and training facilities on the larger Clermont campus. Facilities offered at the Hub will continue to grow and change into the future in line with the changing needs of businesses in the sector.

Wicklow County Campus is a 55-acre estate owned by Wicklow County Council and set in a mixture of wooded parkland and agricultural lands.
There is a range of buildings on the campus, including Clermont College and the adjoining Clermont House. The campus offers offices and a range of classrooms and meeting rooms, many of which are available for rent. The campus is also home to Clermont Screen Hub, Screen Wicklow and The Local Enterprise Office among others.
Clermont House incorporates features from a variety of historic periods dating from the 1730’s and has been used as a location for numerous productions. There is ample parking and easy access to the N11 motorway. The large car park is available for rent as a unit base. Getting Here
It couldn’t be easier to get to Wicklow. The County is located immediately south of Dublin. Distance from Dublin to Wicklow is approximately 43 km / 26 miles.
By Air
Dublin Airport is easily accessible from County Wicklow via the M50 and M/N11.
Bus Services
County Wicklow is served by Bus Éireann from Dublin, Rosslare Harbour, and Waterford. Go to Bus Éireann website for further information about bus routes.
Rail Services
Bray, Greystones, Wicklow Town, Rathdrum, and Arklow are all on the Dublin / Rosslare line, which services the eastern half of County Wicklow. DART trains stop at Bray and Greystones. Go to Irish Rail website for further information about rail services.
Ferry Services
You have a choice of seaports depending on where you are going in Wicklow: Dublin Port / North Wall is to the north, while Rosslare Europort in Co Wexford is to the south.
