After 15 years of serving and fighting for the Roman Empire the Sarmatian Knights, lead by Arthur/Artorious Castus, are about to receive their freedom as the Romans are leaving Britain. But the Knights must carry out one final order before they are free.

Fraughan Rock Glen was used for the snow and travelling scenes.  In Glenmalure the small village and the villa of the Roman Family that needs to be rescued were built.

A huge replica of Hadrian’s Wall, originally in Scotland, complete with Roman settlements was built in the area of Ballymore Eustace. Many of the battle scenes took place here. Other locations that were used include Hollywood Glen, which was covered with fake snow and ice, and this is where the frozen lake was. Powerscourt Estate was used extensively for the wooded scenes. Luggala Estate near Roundwood and Ardmore Studios were also used. Turlough Hill in the middle of the Wicklow Gap provides the backdrop of the opening scenes of the film.

After the disastrous defeat of Irish rebels by superior British forces during the Easter Week rebellion of 1916, Michael Collins develops new strategies for the independence of Ireland.

Locations that were used for Michael Collins include Rathdrum Square, where Michael Collins addresses a large crowd. This scene simulated an actual public meeting of nationalists who listened to a public appeal by The Big Man, in favour of a war-ending treaty with Great Britain. Some of the love scenes with Julia Roberts were shot upstairs in The Woolpack pub in the square in Rathdrum. Hollywood Glen was used for the location where the ambush and assassination of Michael Collins takes place. The Carlisle sports grounds on the Quinsboro Road in Bray were used for the dramatic re-enactment of the atrocious shootings in Croke Park in Dublin. Other scenic locations include Glencree, Lough Dan, Greenan, Glenmalure and Aghavanagh.
